Conducting a Serious Injury or Line-of-Duty Death Investigation Manual

This manual was developed and designed for fire service personnel to review the steps of how fire departments should conduct a formal investigation on a serious injury or death of a firefighter in the line-of-duty.  This educational material reviews the legal pit-falls that fire department can face with not collecting and preserving evidence related to a serious injury or death of a firefighter at an emergency incident or at training.  This information was developed by Dale I. Reisen, Operating Manager of Reisen Fire Consultants, LLC, who was the co-founder of the Lee County Fire-Arson Task Force in Southwest, Florida.
