Advanced Interviewing Techniques for Fire Investigators Manual

This manual was developed and designed for the fire-arson investigator to improve their skills on interviewing.  This manual will discuss advance interviewing techniques that include juvenile firesetters, planning for the interview, The Art of Questioning, the interview setting, detecting deception and building rapport with the interviewee.  This manual was written by Dale I. Reisen, certified fire investigator and managing operator of Reisen Fire Consultants, LLC.  Mr. Reisen was one of the founders of the Lee County Fire-Arson Task Force in Southwest, Florida.  He was named 2001 State of Florida Fire Investigator of the Year named by the Governor.
